Fashion and social media a boon or bane?

social media has been a boon in many ways to the fashion industry in helping it to grow humongously but has it also led to an unsustainable growth affecting the long-term viability of fashion industry. The internet has given a great platform to upcoming designers to showcase the talent to the audience. It has helped in emerging the whole concept of "fast fashion" where in web in social and analysts predict the fashion trends in advance, it has helped designers spread globally to communicate with each other and fashion is no longer restricted to a country's boundary.but most importantly social media has led to the birth of a whole new tribe called fashion bloggers moving the fashion industry out of the realm of experienced and Elite fashion editors to teenagers and young adults now this is the controversial topic whether they are for good or not the fashion bloggers openly express their opinion on fashion and don't shy from criticize others dressing sense.Realising the weight in the voice they carry many brands approach them for promoting them that adds a feather to their hat.this whole environment has led to body shaming teenagers feeling under confident than ever. Brand are hardly manufacturing clothes for curvy girls another flipside of this has been the reduction in the number of times a garment if worn, people don't want to be seen in the same outfit once it has been uploaded on the internet and are now opting for cheap clothes that just look good in photographs but are not durable and can be discarded just after a couple of uses this create a pressure to create cheap not environmental friendly clothes.Freedom of speech is essential but that speed should be used to boost someone's confidence and fashion should be subjective no wrong no right and should be about comfortable clothing.
