Zener Diode as Voltage Regulator

Zener Diode as in the reverse biased zener voltage remains constant for increase in reverse current. This zener diode can be used in voltage regulator circuits.
If W is power rating of zener diode, then maximum allowed current across the diode will be Izm=W/V
The Circuit looks like this:-

I=Iz+IL , 
VL=ILRL
V= Vz+IR
