SOFT COMPUTING: ITS PRINCIPLE, COMPONENTS, IMPORTANCE AND APPLICATIONS.

Soft Computing, also known as Computational Intelligence is used for approximate calculations to provide inexact but usable solutions to complicated computational problems such as NP-Complete problems. Soft Computing is the role model for human mind as it is tolerant of uncertainty and partial truth. It is an emerging field and have found many wide applications. It employs NN, FL, SVM, etc. in a complementary way and helps in learning from experimental data. This techniques generalise to produce output from previously entered inputs.
Principle of Soft Computing:
It derive the benefits for the tolerance of inexact, partial truth, uncertainty and approximation to achieve tractability and low cost solutions.
Components of Soft Computing:
1.Neutral Networks: It process the information.
2.Fuzzy Logic: It solves the problems.
3.Support Vector Machine: It is used for classification and regression.
4.Evolutionary Computation: It generates solution.
5.Machine Learning: It progressively improves performance on the specific task.
6.Probabilistic Logic: It handles the uncertainty to exploit formal argument structure.
Importance of Soft Computing:
The complementarily of FL, NC, GC, and PR has an important consequence and in many cases a problem can be solved by using FL, NC, GC and PR method. An example of a particularly effective combination come to be known as neurofuzzy systems. Neurofuzzy systems are less visible but it is one of the most important system in industrial applications. The soft computing techniques leads to systems which have high MIQ (Machine Intelligence Quotient). In large measure,  MIQ of SC based systems that accounts for the rapid growth in the number and variety of applications of soft computing.
Application of Soft Computing:
Soft Computing is used in day to day life such as handwriting recognition, image processing and data compression, manufacturing system, fuzzy logic control, machine learning applications, speech and vision recognition systems and so on.
