Churchill Brothers S.C. is one of the most famous football clubs of India. Based in Goa,  this legendary football club was previously known as the Varca Club. Churchill Brothers F.C. is one of the founding members of the well renowned I League tournament. This club emerged as one of the best breeding grounds of football players in the 2000s when this club won major tournaments like the Durand Cup, IFA Shield, and the I League.
(4) Dempo S.C.


Dempo S.C. was formed in the year 1968 in Panjim, Goa. Since then, this club has made its own way in the list of the numero uno football clubs of India. Dempo has the record of winning 5 league titles in India which is more than any other club. This Goan club is the arch-rival of the top notch clubs like Mohun Bagan, Churchill Brothers, Mohemmadan Sporting and others. 
(5) Mohammedan Sporting 


Mohammedan Sporting was found in the year 1891 which makes it one of the oldest soccer clubs in the fraternity. Although the charm of the club was at a declination in the first decade of 21st century, the players have lifted it again by winning the IFA shield and the Durand Cup. Mohammedan sporting has 6 IFA shields, 6 Rovers Cup, 2 Duran Cup winner trophies and many other in its shelf.
(6) Chennaiyin F.C. 


Chennaiyin F.C. has one of the largest fan bases in the history of ISL. The club is the two times champions of the ISL and is a hot contestant of the title. Apart from this, Chennaiyin F.C. is one of the three pillars of the South Indian Derby accompanied by Kerela Blasters and Bengaluru F.C.
(7) Bengaluru F.C.


Bengaluru F.C is one of the youngest and most successful clubs in Indian Football History.  This club was formed in the year 2013 and it played a 1-1 draw against the giant Mohun Bagan F.C. in its I League debut. Apart from this, Bengaluru F.C. has won several league titles and was the runners-up in the Asian Football Club. As of now, it stands on the top of the ISL points table.
(8) Salgaocar F.C.


Salgaocar F.C. is another triumphant name in Indian Football. This club is based in Goa and is the first Goan club to grab the NFL (1998-1999 season).   Furthermore, the club also claimed 19 GLC, 3 Durand Cup, 4 Federation Cup championships under its hood.
(9) Minerva Punjab F.C.


This is one of the best soccer clubs that is NOT based in Bengal or Goa. Miverva Punjab F.C. is based in Chandigarh and has its home ground in Ludhiana. Minerva won its first I League title in 2017 season and was the runners-up in the 2015 season of the I League second division.
(10) Mumbai City F.C.


Mumbai City F.C. is well known for its participation in the ISL. The club is the arch-rival of F.C. Pune City and is widely famous for the Maha-Derby. Mumbai City F.C. came into limelight after defeating F.C. Pune city by a score of 5-0 in the first season of the Indian Super League.
