Distance your life from your phone

If we observe today, it has become story of every house how parents keep scolding their children for being constantly drowned in their smartphones, and often those teenagers get frustrated over their parents because of it without even giving a little thought to overuse of smartphones. But unfortunately now, this is not only the case of less mature teens, but also fully matured adults who have found fancy reasons of working and networking digitally to overuse their smartphones. Mobile phones are indeed one of the greatest inventions of 20th century which has enhanced lives globally, but as they say, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Yes today’s smartphones are truly powerful and help every human, but as any other thing, when overused, it does have horrible consequences. The list is long, but i would like to discuss some of the major reasons why we should stop using our phones frequently.

Affects sleep cycle

Today, after lot of research it can be said concretely that using smartphones excessively, especially few hours before we go to sleep can disturb your natural sleep cycle. When you are looking at the screen of your phone, the blue light radiations are emitted which directly reduces the production of melatonin harmone which is responsible inducing sleep in you. Now because of this, lot of people fall prey to sleep deprivation, tiredness throughout the day, inefficiency in work, frustration of inadequate sleep, more stress etc. So now definitely think twice before hanging on social networking sites or even working on your laptops late night. Try to abandon your phone 2-3 hours before you go to sleep.

Affects students

The ill-effects of frequent usage of phones is prominently seen in teenagers which often hamper their student life. It is not unknown how crazy are most teenagers about their identities on social media rather than that of real. But this can lead irrevocable damage to their student life. Lack of concentration is one of the most observed phenomenons in teens because of over using their phones. This often further leads to low grades, lack of vision which is vital at this age. Also so many students fall for cyber bullying which ultimately leads to ugly things. It can be partially understood as it is natural in this age to get distracted and prioritize worthless things over those that is important. So it’s more of parent’s responsibility to look after this. But for that,it is important that parents are not phone addicts and they understand this phenomenon.

It makes you hallucinate

Have you ever felt that your phone is vibrating and when you check it, it is actually not? If yes, then welcome to the club. Yes, you are not the only one, but every third smartphone user experiences this, and this is quite a famous phenomenon known as ‘phantom pocket vibration syndrome’. This happens because you very frequently use phone, your brain keeps expecting notifications frequently, which results in you hallucinating one. This causes your brain unable to focus on important tasks and even depression.

The list is unending, and now it is time that we should recognize this as a disease and spread more and more awareness amongst everyone. Our phones have quite visible benefit, but invisible, gradually occuring harmful effects which slowly poisons over the period.
