Zumba is a fitness program that was developed by a fitness trainer named Alberto Beto Perez in the mid 90's, based on dance and latin and international music that usually lasts for 60-90 minutes. It corporates interval training with alternative fast and slow rhythms along with resistance training.
Zumba, as a business entity trade mark belongs to Zumba Company. There are several variations of Zumba dance programme depending on the country and the academy from which the instructor has been trained.
The dance form is very popular all around the world and people of every age group can enjoy it to the fullest. People of the older age group find zumba to be very interesting. It is not stressful and makes them feel younger.Mother's after pregnancy go for Zumba to reduce baby fat. Even pregnant women do Zumba for various health benefits. Zumba can be done at home, just put on your sweat shirt and tracks along with a Zumba tutorial DVD or just browse the net you are ready to go. Zumba is more fun compared to all other fitness exercises. Being quite an aerobic activity, a session of Zumba can be considered equivalent to performing 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic exercises or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity which is recommended for healthy adults.
Nowadays youngsters prefer going to a Zumba class rather than hitting the gym. For them it is more like partying in the club rather than a aerobic fitness class.

It is the new generation fitness style and many Zumba workshops and classes are gaining popularity in almost every part of the country. It is now turning into a fitness freaks must-do-list. It is not at all complicated and attracts everyone. Social media is promoting Zumba in a large scale and everyone loves it a lot. Zumba has surely become a new era fitness style.
