How IOT will Improve the field of Medicine?

The medicine and healthcare sector is currently going through a small, but significant revolution of IOT. IOT refers to "Internet of Things" and it is nothing, but extending internet connectivity and networks to devices and objects to communicate with each other and provide real time data and analysis. So, how IOT is going to improve the conventional medication? Let me elaborate.

Real Time Monitoring

IOT will enable doctors to real-time monitor the data of patients like blood pressure, glucose level, heart rate, ECGs, etc. and it will be more beneficial in the prescription of drugs and medicines according to the current status of patient's body.

Customized Medication

Conventional medication had developed by researching through a number of subjects and developed it for the mass. But sometimes problem arises when a person is allergic to some substance. In that case, the prescription of drugs becomes a very crucial task. Even specialized and experienced doctors can't take the best decisions. At that time, doctors can take the help of IOT devices to track the data of patients and provide customized medication using AI technologies.

Developing a New Drug

The pharmaceutical companies use almost half of its profits in R&D of new drugs and medicines for either better medication or development of drugs against newly found diseases. In that crucial research, time plays an effective role. If drugs are not developed against newly discovered diseases, then it may become fatal for humanity. But we can use IOT devices which will provide real-time data, when we test the new drugs and medicines on patients, hence saving a lot of time for medicine analysis.

IOT is making it's impact in the fields of medicine at a slow but significant pace.
