The Netgear range of N-routers offer high-speed wireless connections with range between 2.4 and 5GHz. However, at times if the device firmware or hardware faces a performance issue then it might not power on. The Netgear N-Routers are powered with an adapter.

Test the Outlet

If the LED on the front side of your Netgear Wi-Fi N-Router is not blinking, the power adapter might not be connected to the electrical outlet. Prior to powering the device, inspect the adapter that is supplied with the Netgear router. In case it is not plugged into an outlet then connect it to the power source and press the Power button.

  1. Reset the Router

Our experts recommend that you reset the Netgear router back to its default factory settings. This is a good way to resolve any hardware issue that might be interfering with the normal operations of your Netgear router. However, before you reset, press the Power button back and forth to check if it powers on. In case, it doesn’t power up then press and hold the Reset button on the back of the router to restore it to factory default settings. Allow our experts to help you get your Netgear router working smoothly like before.

  1. The Power Adapter
A majority of the Netgear N-Routers utilize a 12V DC, 2.5A power adapter and if the adapter being used isn’t working, the device won’t work. Our specialists at the Router Support Canada recommend that you get a new adapter to make your device work. At times, it is not a technical but a hardware issue that renders your router dysfunctional.
